The original brain background image includes the wires, but I have removed the wires from the ones I will be using. I also moved the center brain button slightly to the right because previously it was slightly off center. The header image was formerly on imgur but I needed to put this on Blogger to avoid fragmentation.
They seem to be have no care regarding the preservation of information. They never take the time to provide a redirect to new pages if for some insane reason they decide to kill old URLs. Smithsonian is the current focus on my annoyance. They killed a couple of RSS feeds I was utilizing. FR needs to be updated soon regarding the Smithsonian.
Via Singularity Weblog an article was published (27th March 2014) explaining how AI risk analysts are the biggest risk. Note also the following two G+ posts from Singularity 2045 on the same issue. The real threat is humans versus human conflict
('Small' Nuclear War Could Trigger Catastrophic Cooling). We need superior intelligence ASAP to avert the risk of human stupidity. Some risk analysts dangerously claim robots could be evil (see the Tweets below). The risk analysts are the true evil, the true danger, a very dangerous situation indeed.

Uploading a bee brain into a bee robot is revolutionary. This collection of G+ posts from Singularity 2045 also focuses on a molecular biology revolution. PhysOrg described how a forthcoming "...explosion of data combined with ever more powerful computers is bringing about a second revolution in molecular biology." Hacking T-Cells is mind-blowing too. We live in a marvellous world of self-assembling DNA cages.

I've not embedded news about MRI being using to visualise gene activity inside brains. I also refrained from embedding the post about E.coli being modified to withstand radiation, likewise edible electronics, but those three posts are equally important. Radical news overflows. It is difficult to distil the potency of technological news to achieve a concise summary. Hopefully via limiting the embeds to six posts, combined with the two links above, this will create powerful appraisal of technology at the end of March 2014.

The overall message of this blog entry is regarding the difference between machines and biology evaporating, evident by PhysOrg commentary ("...researchers are working to engineer biology much as they engineer high-tech machines..."), or evident via the synbio creation of living materials (E.coli re-engineered to produce "...gold nanowires, conducting biofilms, and films studded with quantum
dots, or tiny crystals that exhibit quantum mechanical properties.").

Here are the most popular posts on Singularity 2045, Google+, up to March 2014. In August 2012 a post was made on Singularity 2045 regarding electricity being generated from a virus, which at the time it was popular with 10 pluses and 23 shares. The following posts show the level of progress. The progress of the Singularity 2045 page is not astronomical but progress is being made. I found the most popular ones via a site called googleplussuomi. I was considering including a post about machine learning, but the top four will suffice.

Here are four posts from Singularity 2045 on G+. It would be amazing if quantum graphene mice had been created with the ability to cure Alzheimer's and viruses, a type of synbio AI-Frankenmouse, but these are four separate posts, which are nevertheless amazing. It is a great demonstration of general sci-tech progress.

Here are some posts from the Singularity 2045 on G+. The G+ page is progressing well, there are currently 20,039 people following the page. The post below regarding quantum black holes is the most shared and plused post so far; on 8th October 2013 at the time of this blog-post it has 174 +1s and 69 shares.

In this post I will expand on my notes. The following feeds are not currently (7th Sept 2013) listed on FR but perhaps I will slot them in somewhere, or least one of them. I will probably update this post when I discover new feeds to possibly include on FR. In the meantime you may want to add one of these to your reader.

Discover Magazine
— SINGULARITY UTOPIA (@2045singularity) September 8, 2013

There is also the Facebook feed for 33rd Square to consider. To acquire feeds for Facebook pages you need to add the ID number to the following link (directly after the = sign): http://www.facebook.com/feeds/page.php?format=atom10&id=

The Facebook feed for 33rd Square is therefore: http://www.facebook.com/feeds/page.php?format=atom10&id=138474689598871

There are various ways to find the Facebook page ID, you can view the source code (regarding the relevant page) then search for <span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace;">"profile_id" or <span style="font-family: "Courier New",Courier,monospace;">page_id= or perhaps the simplest method is to use findmyfacebookid.com. Facebook often changes the ability for people to acquire feeds so the above method for FB feeds may not work in the future.

Note also AI Is Awesome and Transhumanism on Facebook.

I could also add the G+ page feed 33rd Square, created via: http://gplus-to-rss.appspot.com/.

I think I might replace feeds.wired.com/GearFactor (AKA wired.com/gadgetlab/feed) with feeds.wired.com/wiredscience.Singularity Utopiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15632252231145345609noreply@blogger.com0tag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6399988230734862717.post-21973074711541983652013-08-28T10:42:00.001-07:002013-08-31T05:48:19.425-07:00GooglePlus Killed Feeds For Communities Google+ has killed the feeds for Communities. Feeds for G+ Pages continue to function. To replace the dead Communities feeds I've added Webs E and I removed, put into storage, one of the dead G+ Social tabs (Soc C) to make room for Webs E.

The Social tab B, which formerly contained G+ Community feeds, has now been rearranged to contain a mix of feeds from various social sites, which means there are now only two Social tabs, the reddit one (unchanged) and the updated Social B tab (a mixture of feeds from social pages).

When the feeds died I initially wrote: "Update, 17th Aug 2013: G+ Communities feeds are currently not working; this problem will either be fixed soon (issue logged) or FR feeds will be rearranged (alternate ones added)."

So with the feeds not fixed on 28th August 2013 the rearrangement plan is now implemented.

Below is the original code I was using for G+ Social feeds (B and C) on the Index page, which will be logged here to use if it is ever possible to reinstate the feeds for G+ Communities. I doubt G+ will actually fix the feeds but this is OK. I'm actually becoming fond of the new feeds in Webs E so maybe Google via its in the way guy mentality did me a favour. Despite my fondness for Webs E I'll probably leave some comments in the suggestion box here because a wide variety of feed-options is good.

I've discovered Google+ API product manager Thor Mitchell has commented on the demise of Communities feeds: "We've taken no deliberate action to break this. However that behaviour was always somewhat accidental, and therefore risky to use." So it seems the "accidental" Communities feeds will likely be permanently broken.
I'm merely deciding what background image, if any, to use. There are also some other fine-tuning issues, for example regarding the header image, which I need to address. It is a shame I often feel the need to embed Tweets, embedded Tweets are very useful, is it is shame Twitter couldn't also provide an useful feeds option, I don't enjoy depending on disrespectful services. Twitter is making it very difficult and perhaps impossible to obtain a feed, this is the problem. Formerly it was very easy to obtain a Twitter feed, you merely adjusted the Twitter URL to the search term or profile you wanted, but now it seems you need a write a JSON App and then convert the App to RSS.

@twitterapi WTF dev.twitter.com/docs/api/1.1/g…? I only want TwitterSearchFeed. What next? People must solve 10k quadratic equations b4 every Tweet?

The problem is Twitter is retiring API 1.0 on the 11th of June, according to engadget, which I only discovered towards the end of building this FR site. On 6th of June the Twitter API 1.0 suffered a blackout (death-throes) ahead of the June 11th end. I have asked around a few places to see if there was an easy solution but it seems not.

Anyway if a social network makes it difficult to share information, in this case via feeds, then I am very disinclined to favour that network with my time and energy. Walled gardens, limits, restrictions, or obstacles regarding sharing, it is anti-social, it is the antithesis of being social, social is all about sharing therefore even if I could implement a Twitter feed, I have decided not to. I am actually thankful for Twitter's hypocritical anti-social stance becuase the additional reddit feeds I've added are better quality than the initial Twitter feeds had intended to use:
Finally I'd like to fit in the feed for Robert Scoble's YouTube uploads, but I'm unsure where to fit it:

Perhaps Ted Stevens regarding his infamous "series of tubes" speech would be fearsome of Futuristic Reader? The truth is FR will save the Internet by preventing web-traffic-jams. The congestion, which Ted wrongly feared, will be averted.

FR will save the world, or at least the Internet, by making
sci-tech news easier to catch and digest. A streamlined approach to
news, regarding technological acceleration, will really save the world
because these feeds will make it easier for people to feed their minds,
which means people can become more intelligent. Intelligence is the
solution to everything.

Now for the serious stuff. You may think Ted's anti-net-neutrality bunkum is a thing of ancient history, but on the 28th May 2013 Technology Review published an article stating the battle is not over. Free the tubes! I agree with David Aames, David said Thomas Tipp was right, "people will read again."

I was thinking about how Google Reader will soon be closing therefore I decided to create my own style of reader purely regarding futuristic news.

If you enjoy reading about futuristic news then you will appreciate this website. I am not sure how long creating this site will take. It should be easy to create because all the content will be piped feeds. I merely need to perform some minor stylistic editing, thankfully I already have a reasonably suitable site template and styles. Perhaps this site will be complete sometime around the 7th of June 2013, check back then. At the moment I am merely testing some ideas thus things may not be clear during the design period and things may change a lot.Singularity Utopiahttp://www.blogger.com/profile/15632252231145345609noreply@blogger.com0
